WHAT YOU ARE SEEING
Presentation model: lighting, orientation and rotation speed are illustrative. Planet sizes are fitted to the viewer, not shown to a common scale. This is not a live telescope image.
02 / WORLDS BEYOND THE SUN
Exoplanets
Twelve catalogue worlds, from neighbouring stars to distant Kepler systems.

Distance in light-years · Orbit in Earth days · Radius in Earth radii (R⊕). Missing values are shown as “Not reported”.
A curated snapshot, not the full catalogue. Values are rounded composite parameters and can combine different studies; uncertainties and individual references are available in each source record. A planet’s size alone does not establish its composition or habitability.
03 / THE TRANSIENT UNIVERSE
Space events
Follow a trigger from its first notice to the evidence behind it.
They are not a live signal stream, a complete event list or new discoveries by Parallax. Automated triggers can change classification as teams analyse more data.

About this observatory
A small, public edition of Parallax for exploring together.
Explore here. Research locally.
The local Parallax application remains the authoritative workspace for analysis and research. This independent public edition contains selected astronomy facts and public imagery. It does not connect to the local application or synchronise with it.
There are no uploads, accounts, editing tools or connections to private research here. Searching and selecting a world only changes what is shown in your browser. Public source links take you to the relevant scientific archive.
PLANETARY MAPS
Solar System Simulator
Eight maps distributed by NASA/JPL. Each planet shows its individual credit and distinguishes spacecraft, radar and land/ocean maps from artists’ illustrations.
Browse the source mapsCourtesy NASA/JPL-Caltech and the creators credited with each map. Original image bytes retained.
PLANETARY MEASUREMENTS
JPL Solar System Dynamics
Mean radius and sidereal orbital period from JPL’s planetary physical parameters. Values are rounded for display.
Measurements and uncertaintiesMeasurements checked 28 September 2026.
EXOPLANET CATALOGUE
NASA Exoplanet Archive
Twelve selected records from the Planetary Systems Composite Parameters table, with a direct source link for every world.
